Fashion design school is a fun and friendly place, but remember, it is also a competitive environment. While your talent is important, your grades may be critical when it comes to landing your first job or applying to graduate school. Being a successful fashion school student requires certain skills. If you do not have these skills, learn them!

Developing self-discipline
When you are in fashion design school, make it a habit to do the right things from day one. It is much easier to pick up a habit then to break one. Learn the fundamentals of time management
No matter how you look at it, there are only 24 hours in a day. Good time-management requires:
- Not taking on more than you can manage
- Calculating the approximate time required to do the allotted work
- Actually doing it!
Keeping up with assignments and handing things in on time are also critical when it comes to grading. Always do your best and just a little bit more, go the extra mile and you’ll go a long way.
